Diva Museum Antwerp
Before the recent opening of the exciting new DIVA Antwerpen Diamant and Silver Museum, Painting with Light were able to demonstrate to an assembled pre-launch press pack exactly how the exhibition would look using Virtual Reality technology. “Here at Painting With Light we have already used VR on a variety of assignments to visualise projects before their actualisation,” comments Wouter Verhulst who was project manager on PWL’s brief to manage the full package of video, lighting and VR.

Designed to be an experience centre that informs visitors about the long historical association Antwerp has had with precious stones and metals over the centuries, VR was able to take the audience on a sneek peek into the future before the full opening. The six rooms inside DIVA take you on a journey that celebrates the heritage of diamond and jewellery trading that made such a significant contribution to Antwerp’s status as a major European market.
“This press conference was a unique event that we really wanted to do," explains Wouter, “Using VR to show the press the dynamic nature of what DIVA will deliver was a really powerful way to demonstrate how the final museum will look and feel.”
Painting with Light CEO Luc Peumans adds, "We have only seen the tip of the iceberg concerning VR at concerts, theme parks and theatre. The possibilities for this technology are really exciting us here at Painting With Light."
