In 2000, the Musical Awards Foundation was set up by Joop van den Ende with the aim of recognising the outstanding achievements of performers in musicals and rewarding them with special awards. An annual gala is organised to celebrate these achievements and also promote musical culture in the Netherlands. Nominees are selected based on their extraordinary creative or artistic contribution to a musical during a specific period of performance.
This year, these awards took place on Wednesday 24 April. No fewer than 3 awards could be partly attributed to the craftsmanship of Luc Peumans and his team. Together with Robert Nieuwenhuis, responsible for the design of the rotating ice floor, they also brought the award home after their nomination for 'Best Set/Stage Design or Projections' for the musical 'De Tocht'. 'De Tocht' was nominated in 2 different categories and thus also captured the coveted award for 'Friends Lottery Audience Award Best Musical 2024'. The Studio 100 musical 'De 3 biggetjes', for which PWL also provided the lighting, went home with the award for 'Eventim Audience Award Best Family Musical 2024'. Great recognition and extra motivation to keep delivering this level of performance.
Kudos to the teams behind 'De Tocht' and 'De 3 biggetjes', credit where credit is due!
